Near Port Selao
17 tapes. I have all 17 tapes again. I can barely believe my good fortune. These are the audio recordings of the Jackal made in September and October. I’ve found a resourceful computer wizard to help me. A tiny man who calls himself Newton. He lives in a hobbit-sized hut that has no running water, but it does have impressive Internet access and a lightning-fast computer. Unbelievable the things you find if you look hard enough.
He’s agreed to encode my tapes and post them online. So watch for them next week.

Reuben this is Xianyong. I don't know who this "Frank" character is (msg below) but you know and I know he's not who he says he is, because I blasted Frank's head off at the LZ, and now can finally reveal it was I who dealt with The Jackal, though I saw no reason to kill myself when the medics were there at the border. Still, the malaria did almost kill me and its only through the tough mental training I had that I WILLED myself to live. The Jackal though? He's blown to smeetherins. You can take my word for it.

Reuben this is Frank. I didn't kill myself like the Jackal advised. You know his body was never found. Well, I think I'm going to head back to Ireland. I hope our paths cross again.

@Sensical
"He must kill anyone and everyone. I'm questioning whether his presence is even a boon at this point."
That’s why the trailer said that – “Become what you hunt.”

I'm glad to here this news, I've already listened to 9 tapes but I'm looking forward to the rest. Go well, Reuben.

Glad you got your tapes back Reuben.
Now tell us - how is the situation at the moment around Port Selao with all those new "warriores" now around?

EDIT: "...the UFLL or the *APR*..." (I wasn't trying to implicate the Associated Press in this matter, heh.)

I've heard The Jackal speak on these tapes. His insistently-paced monotone is unnerving. He also apparently likes to couch his actions in Nietzschean existentialism. Will to power. I've also been following the actions of this imported assassin you speak of, Reuben. The one that is on a "fool's mission" to take out The Jackal. And from what I've seen, this assassin is notching up more kills across the countryside than (probably) The Jackal himself. It looks as though this assassin is going to have to kill many, many more people before reaching his singular target. Operating as a "deniable asset," no side -- the UFLL or the AP -- will grant him any trust. He can't even spare one side over the other. He must kill anyone and everyone. I'm questioning whether his presence is even a boon at this point.

Hey Reuben,
Please contact your "publisher" and tell him to please offer your "media" without arcane restrictions on how many times I can "use" it.
Please, tell me why there is a level of unnecessary DRM on top of the successful, user-friendly DRM, Steam.
It looks like a great, well-executed piece, but coated in nasty.
